Enjoy a Full Day of Family Fun at the New York Auto Show
Interactive play zones, driving experiences, and a dedicated Family Fun Zone make this year’s Auto Show an easy choice for families
The New York International Auto Show is now open through April 12, 2026, offering a full day of experiences for families to enjoy together—both on and beyond the Show floor.
From eye-catching supercars to hands-on play zones and driving experiences, the Show blends automotive excitement with family-friendly fun. While the latest vehicles remain at its core, an expanded range of activities makes it easy to plan a day out with kids of all ages.
“This year’s Show is designed to be experienced together,” said Mark Schienberg, President of the New York International Auto Show. “Families can come in, explore the latest vehicles, and then spend time enjoying activities that keep kids engaged and excited throughout the day.”
Start in the Family Fun Zone
At the centre of the experience is the Family Fun Zone, a dedicated hub where families can play, explore, and recharge without needing to move between different parts of the Show.
Bringing together hands-on attractions, interactive exhibits, a marketplace, and places to relax, the area is designed as a one-stop destination for families to spend time together.
Kids can get behind the wheel at the Kids EV Driving Academy, where young drivers navigate a dedicated course in battery-powered vehicles, from mini Jeeps to pint-sized EVs, while parents follow along, snapping photos and cheering them on.
The track sits alongside the No Limit Ninjas obstacle course, where kids climb, balance, and race through a mini ninja challenge, adding a burst of high-energy fun to the experience.
Interactive Moments Across the Show
At the Subaru Loves Pets exhibit offers a quieter moment where visitors can step inside a gated space and spend time interacting with adorable and friendly rescue dogs.
At Hyundai, the energy shifts again. Visitors can test their aim in a World Cup–themed soccer challenge, kicking balls into a virtual net for a chance to win World Cup tickets, while just steps away, crowds gather to watch dancing robots perform synchronized routines that regularly stop people in their tracks.
For those who want to get behind the wheel in a different way, driving simulators in the Hyundai and Genesis displays let visitors test their skills on virtual tracks from around the world, in addition to real-world rides on outdoor tracks like the family-favorite Camp Jeep.
These moments—unexpected, interactive, and often playful—are scattered throughout the Show, giving families something new to discover around every corner.
A Comfortable, Full-Day Experience
Food and beverage options are available throughout the Javits Convention Center, along with café-style offerings within select exhibits, making it easy to pause, grab a snack and keep the day moving at your own pace.
With a mix of high-energy activities, interactive displays and space to relax, the New York International Auto Show offers a full-day experience families can enjoy together, whether it’s a few hours or an entire day in the city.
