Family Fun Takes the Wheel at the New York Auto Show

The Show offers fun for the whole family.

The New York International Auto Show returns April 3–12, 2026 with an expanded lineup of family-friendly attractions designed to be enjoyed together. The Show has evolved into a full-day experience that blends vehicles with hands-on fun for visitors of all ages.

Throughout the Auto Show’s three levels of exhibits families can step into interactive experiences that invite participation. From youngster driving activities to exciting vehicle experiences, simulators and test tracks, the reimagined New York Auto Show offers a wide range of ways to explore, discover and experience the Show as a family.

“This year’s Show is about doing, not just looking,” said Mark Schienberg, President of the New York International Auto Show. “We’ve created experiences that families can enjoy together, with interactive attractions that appeal across generations.”

A Bigger, Reimagined Family Fun Zone
At the center of the Show’s family experience is the newly expanded Family Fun Zone, which replaces the former Kids Corner with more space and a broader mix of activities. Designed to bring families together, the area features hands-on attractions that invite shared exploration and return visits throughout the day.

Younger guests can take the wheel at the Kids EV Test Track, where children get to drive battery operated vehicles on a dedicated course designed for supervised, family participation. Nearby, the No Limit Ninjas Obstacle Course adds high-energy fun, offering a ninja-style challenge that kids and parents can experience together.

Real Rides, Real Thrills
Beyond the Family Fun Zone, the Show offers ride experiences that turn vehicles into shared moments. Camp Jeep returns with its iconic off-road course, where families experience steep climbs, rugged terrain and dramatic angles, including the towering Jeep Mountain, bringing adventure to the middle of Manhattan.

Inside, the Hybrid & EV Test Track offers a different kind of excitement through guided experiences that showcase the smooth acceleration and quiet performance of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. New for 2026, the Toyota Drive Experience adds an outdoor test-track option, giving visitors another opportunity to experience vehicles in motion together.

Interactive Fun Across the Show
Additional interactive attractions, including driving simulators and gaming activations, offer another way for families to engage with vehicles in a playful, immersive environment. These experiences add variety to the day and complement the hands-on activities found throughout the Show. There are so many photo ops to take and make part of the family photo album.
