Viral Phenomenon Akira Nakai to Build Porsche LIVE

In a major first for the automotive world, legendary Porsche tuner Akira Nakai—the mastermind behind RAUH-Welt Begriff (RWB)—will perform a live wide-body build for the very first time at an auto show, and it’s happening exclusively at the 2025 New York International Auto Show.

Flying in from Japan, Nakai will transform a 2006 Porsche Carrera S into one of his signature RWB creations live on the Show floor over two action-packed days, April 23 and 24, inside the R2XPO Aftermarket and Customization showcase at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

This hands-on performance is more than a build—it’s automotive art in motion. Nakai’s custom creations have made him a global icon, with millions of fans tuning in across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube to watch his unique, hand-built masterpieces come to life. Each car is crafted entirely by Nakai himself, using only his own tools and signature techniques.

“Enthusiasts wait years—and travel thousands of miles—for the privilege of a Nakai build,” said Mark Schienberg, President of the New York International Auto Show. “Now, Auto Show visitors can see it happen live, in real time, right before their eyes. It’s a piece of automotive history in the making.”

In addition to the live build, the exhibit will feature two completed RWB vehicles, giving fans an up-close look at Nakai’s unmistakable fusion of Japanese craftsmanship, street-racing soul, and dramatic design.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to witness RWB magic unfold live at the 2025 New York Auto Show—April 18–27 at the Jacob K. Javits Center.
