Experience More

This year, our aim in designing the New York International Auto Show poster was to encapsulate the essence of the event: a fusion of high-performance automobiles and a family-friendly atmosphere. To achieve this, we drew inspiration from the core brand colors, ensuring continuity with the show’s identity. The use of diagonal lines serves as a subtle homage to the open road, evoking the thrill of driving and exploration.

A significant departure from previous years was the decision to streamline the poster’s title, removing the word “International” and opting for “NY” instead of “New York.” This bold move not only modernized the poster’s appearance but also conveyed a sense of confidence and efficiency, reflecting the evolving nature of the show itself.

Furthermore, our design aimed to convey the dynamic energy of the Auto Show through the arrangement of images and shapes. By juxtaposing various shapes and images, we sought to capture the diverse range of vehicles and experiences offered at the event, inviting viewers to immerse themselves and experience more of the NY Auto Show.

The New York Auto Show poster has always been an important part of the show, with each one identifying what was happening in the auto industry during that time period. It has undergone a fascinating evolution, mirroring the changes in automotive design, cultural trends, and artistic styles over the years.

The early posters, simple in design yet bold in their promotion, reflected the excitement of a burgeoning industry. As cars became more accessible to the masses, the posters began to incorporate elements of speed and adventure, appealing to the thrill-seekers of the era.

However, it was in the post-war years that the New York Auto Show posters truly began to shine. With the end of World War II ushering in a new era of prosperity and innovation, the posters embraced a sense of optimism and futurism. Bold colors, sleek lines, and images of sleek, futuristic cars dominated the designs, capturing the imagination of a generation hungry for progress.

Throughout the decades, the New York Auto Show posters have continued to evolve, reflecting the ever-changing landscape of the automotive industry and the broader cultural zeitgeist. From the muscle cars of the 1960s to the eco-friendly vehicles of the 21st century, each poster tells a story of innovation, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

But perhaps what makes the New York Auto Show posters truly special is their ability to transcend mere advertising and become works of art in their own right.
